One person, no code, a lot of trial and error.
Hi β I'm the person behind Hatch & Build. I'm 29, and I'm studying theology, not computer science. I don't work in tech, I've never held a developer job, and there's no team or funding behind anything on this site. It's just me, a laptop, and ideas I couldn't stop thinking about.
A few years ago that combination would have meant the ideas stayed ideas. Today it doesn't. I build everything here with the help of AI tools β describing what I want, testing what comes back, fixing what breaks, and slowly learning how the pieces fit together. I still wouldn't call myself a developer. But the things I build are real, they're live, and people use them.
That's what the egg is about. From egg to ___ β every project starts as something small and unformed, and the fun part is watching what it hatches into.
I share the process β the wins and the embarrassing bugs β on Instagram and on the build log here. Partly because writing things down is how I actually learn them, and partly because I know there are a lot of people like me: full of ideas, convinced they're disqualified because they can't code. I used to be one of them. If watching a theology student ship apps makes one of those people start building, this site has done its job.
